A Day with a Friend

Today I spent the day with a friend shopping in Milwaukee.  We went to the Milwaukee Public Market located on Water Street in downtown Milwaukee.  It was our 1st time at the market.  Neat place!  The market is a collection of unique  food shops.  Bakery to Fish Market!  Great place for a unique lunch!  We arrived at 10am...it was a little early for us to eat lunch. But we did taste some very good  food. I purchase Jason some Salt Water Taffy at the Kehr's Candy Shop.   The 30th is his birthday and he loves Salt Water Taffy.   Karen bought some peppercorns from the The Spice House.  The Spice House had a really fun collection of kitchen utensils and snack containers.  I almost bought the carrot container that looked just like a carrot with a section to hold dip.  I had it in my hands and then the SENSIBLE  ME said.....Debbie put it back...you have tons of reusable containers for your carrots!

When we finished checking out the Public Market we headed to Whole Foods on North Prospect in Milwaukee. Many of you know I am trying very hard to eat organic...I thought Whole Foods would be a great place to check out what is available. If you have never visited a Whole Foods Store ...you should.  Great place to check out new products! They have one of the best selection of organic and gluten free I have ever seen.
I did pick me up a few of my favorite snacks that I can not find anywhere else.  Food Should Taste Good Sweet Potato Chips!  Delicious!  Plus, they were on sale...2 bags for $4.00!  I got three of the Larabar Cherry Pie bars! Delicious snack bars! I also bought 2 That's it Bars...one is apples & pears and the other is apples & peaches. My last purchase was a pack of Sea Tangle Snacks! Vegan Korean Nori!  I have never tasted Korean Nori so this is a 1st for me.  I will let you guys know how it taste!

At Whole Foods they had a fantastic selection of prepared food!  A hot food section, a cold food section, fresh bakery, fresh pizza, and fresh deli!  Food that looked delicious!  We could not make up our minds what we wanted to eat.  They had samples of all kinds of great tasting food.  So Karen and I sampled our way through lunch!  They also had a very nice area to sit and eat and enjoy the moment.  What I noticed at both the Public Market and Whole Foods is that both had internet access.  I thought that was really nice since many people were on their laptops relaxing having lunch or enjoying a dessert.  So.....If you are in Milwaukee and ever need to have a great lunch....check out the Milwaukee Public Market on Water Street or Whole Foods on North Prospect!  I would recommend both places for food that looks and taste great.

  1. It sounds like you had such a fun day with your friend. Thanks for all the great info, it is so nice to know which places offer internet access. It's nice to be able to take your work with you to lunch if you are in a time crunch.
