Have you heard of the NuWave Oven?
It is AMAZING!
The NuWave is a countertop oven that will cook up to 50% faster than a regular oven. Plus, it uses 85% less energy than your conventional oven! You can use your own pans...no special pans to buy. No need to defrost your items...you can cook them frozen!
It is a healthier faster way to cook!
The Controls are so easy to use - everything is minutes...no seconds which makes setting the time so much easier. Super simple....Cook Time - Minutes - Start..that is it! If you want to stop the cooking and check your item in the oven...push Pause...check it..then push Start!
My 1st project was Stuffed Green Peppers. They are a favorite of ours...we thought the peppers would be a good test recipe since we are very picky about our Stuffed Green Peppers.
When you order your NuWave Oven you get a great instruction card, instruction video, and Free Membership to the NuWave Cooking Club jsut for NuWave Oven users. Great recipes...cooking tips...videos for easy instructions...the site is full of valuable info.
I checked the Cooking Club site and there was not a recipe for Stuffed Green Peppers...but I did find a recipe for meatloaf. I figured meatloaf and stuffed peppers were pretty close to the same cooking time so..I used the cooking time for the meatloaf to cook my stuffed green peppers.
Total 30 minutes!
I made my Stuffed Green Peppers like I normally do (recipe below) and used the same cooking dish I use in my oven.
I placed the peppers in the oven...closed the lid...pushed Cook Time...30 minutes.....Start
When the timer said 15 minutes left...I noticed that the peppers were browning very nicely on top. In the instruction video they recommended using Reynolds wrap to slow down the top browning...so that
is what I did.
I pushed the Pause button ...opened the lid and placed a sheet of Reynolds wrap over the baking dish.
When the timer was at 25 minutes...I wanted to check the peppers to see if they were done. I touched the Pause button...lifted the lid and checked the peppers! Yes they were done.
Now I needed to add my breadcrumbs and cheese.
I placed the breadcrumb and cheese topped peppers back into the NuWave Oven....placed the lid back on and touched start.
In the last 2 minutes the cheese melted perfectly!
Check Out these Stuffed Green Peppers....they look and taste delicious!
Debbie's NuWave
Stuffed Green Peppers
4 Medium Size Green Pepper
1 pound of Ground Beef
White Rice
Worcestershire Sauce
Emeril's Seasoning Salt
Black Pepper
Garlic Powder
V8 Juice
Bread Crumbs
Butter
Cheese (any type you like - grated)
Cut the tops off the green peppers...take out the seeds. Boil the peppers in water for about 15 minutes (to soften them)
While the peppers are boiling...mix ground beef, rice, Worcestershire Sauce, Emeril's, Black Pepper, and Garlic Powder . Use the baking dish you are going to use for your peppers to mix the ingredients.
When the peppers are soft..use tongs to remove them from the hot water. One at a time - place the pepper on the ground beef mixture and fill the pepper..moving the ground beef mixture so that the pepper can sit upright. Continue to fill all the peppers and place then in the baking dish. When the peppers are sitting in the baking dish - fill the dish with V8 Juice (fill to about 1/2 inch from top of baking dish)
Place baking dish in NuWave Oven
Push Cook Time - 30 - Start
While peppers are baking...mix melted butter and bread crumbs together to form a breadcrumb mixture to add onto the peppers at the end.
Grate your cheese to have ready to add on top of peppers at the end
Half way through check peppers for browning on top...if needed add a sheet of Reynolds wrap to stop peppers from browning.
When timer is at 28 minutes - check to make sure the ground beef is cooked completely. When the peppers are done add breadcrumb mixture and grated cheese. Cook the remaining 2 minutes. Serving for 4
